Cat toy/bedding

I got creative today with the help with my cousin and made Miss Lulu a cat toy/bedding present for Christmas.

This turned out better than we had hoped for.  We left the back open, and just pinned it so I can undo it so I can wash it if need be.

The inside, hopefully she will dive into it like she does a grocery bag!

Then with the leftover fabric I made a pillow case for the pillow she sleeps on in Trent's room (when she sleeps there)

Knitting & sewing

I am looking for things to make over the winter. I have several projects for knitting, but I need to find something to sew. I need some practice, and I want to start making my clothes. Sounds like a big project, but I am up for it. I have been looking at patterns for outdoor cushions for my patio set. I am thinking they should be easy to do, as they are much like making pillows, and I have that down pretty good.

Patio furniture

I am getting new outdoor furniture! I found the set I want, and can't wait until our taxes get here so I can go get it!  I have found a pattern for place mats that I am going to make for us to use when we eat out there.  I hope they turn out ok.  I have a project for my hubby to complete so I can use our deck more.  I want a slider put in where our dining room windows are.  He thinks its going to be too expensive, but little does he know I have already looked into this, and its not all that bad.   We won't have to pay anyone labor to put this in, as he and his dad can do this.  Got to start cracking that whip!

Buzz Lightyear to the rescue!

My latest project completed.  I saw this fabric book at Joanne Fabrics and thought I would give it a try.  I am not that great at sewing, but am quite pleased with the outcome of this little book.  At first I kept saying "It's a good thing I love Cohen!"  It was giving me fits, but I finally got it done!

Then the finished project:

Patterns

I need to find a pattern so I can make seat cushions for my patio furniture. I wonder if they make such a thing? Now that its getting nice outside, I want to be able to go out on my deck and enjoy the nice weather, but want a nice comfy chair to sit in.  Plus this will give me some more practice on sewing.  I want to be able to make things so I can get my etsy site filled up with lots of neat things.  Got to make a living some how, why not with crafty items?
