Today is my oldest son’s 21st birthday. I had planned on giving him cash for his gift, but didn’t want to just put some $$ in a card. So with him thinking I am still his money tree I wanted to make one, but had trouble finding one of those fake wire trees. I had to get creative, so I used some poinsetta flowers and removed the flowers from the stems and added the dollar bills. I can’t wait to see his face!

Ever have one of those days, weeks or months where the kids drive you crazy!? This must be the mouthiest month ever with my two! I am going to make a box and name it my Lipovox, and every time they get mouthy or lippy they will have to put in a dollar! It won't take long for either 1)I have a small sum of money to go shopping with or 2) they catch on fast and shape up! As much as I would love to be able to go shopping, I would much rather have two boys who are well behaved!
I did my grocery shopping already, kept my spending to under what I had budgeted. That's always a bonus! I love getting those cash register coupons at the checkout, and for once there were actually two that I would use. They always give you ones for stuff you would never buy. I am still hoping that they will give out one for acne pills, one can hope.
I have a cooking class tomorrow to go to, so I had to get a few things for this, like round brie cheese and apricot jam. I found the cheese alright, but the jam not so much. The store I went to had lots of apricot preserves, but no jam. I am hoping that the one I got will do just fine. We are going to be making lots of appetizers, yum!
I actually ventured in the Christmas aisle (even tho I hate that they have them up before Thanksgiving), to look at the ornaments. I have a few exchanges I am in this year, so I am scouting them out early to see what I to get. Then over to the craft asile to look at yarns to go with some towels I am going to be making as well.
Productive morning, now I am killing time before I have to go pick up the kindergartener and then we will be meeting my friend and her boys for lunch.
I found the cutest craft to make, and you use disposable diapers!! We had a baby shower this past weekend for my dear friend Kellie. She had originally wanted a diaper shower, but we thought getting just a package of diapers would be way to boring. I had a few things for her already, so I searched online to find instructions for a diaper cake.
I found a video of one being made and put mine together. I used the small size dipaers, I thought one package would be enough, but needed to get another package, only to use 7 more diapers. I had some blue ribbon (she is having a boy), some cute baby toys I found on a 99 cent rack, and a baby bottle. It didn't take me long to make this cute diaper cake.
I am thinking about making a few more of these and post them on my etsy account. Would you buy one of these for a shower gift?
But you will have to wait for one more week! LOL I can't post it now, as it is for a friend, and it will give away the surprise! Just know that I am so pleased with how it turned out, and can't wait to make more!! I think this will be a fun craft project to put on my etsy page! Right now my page is blank, I haven't had the time to work on projects, which is funny, as I am no longer working. You would think I have all the time in the world, but I find myself on the computer all day long. I need to stop this, and get some stuff done, so I can start making some money to build back up our savings!
