Have some “single gloves” laying around and want a fun craft to do, try this out…

Photobucket

Materials

* Single glove
* Needle and thread
* Dry rice
* Hot glue
* Large pom-pom
* Buttons
* Wire
* Ribbon
* Felt

Instructions

1. First, tuck the thumb inside the glove and use a needle and thread (an embroidery needle works fine) to sew it shut. Fill the glove with dry rice, then tuck the cuff inside.

2. Stitch all along the cuff’s edge, then pull the thread tightly to close the top. Knot the thread.

3. Step 3 Sew or hot-glue a large pom-pom to the top of the glove. At the base of the quadropus — where the glove’s fingers attach to the palm — pinch the sides together and sew a few stitches to hold them, as shown. This will help make the body rounder.

4. Step 4 To make the tentacles, attach buttons to the undersides of the four fingers with hot glue. Sew or hot-glue on button eyes and a felt mouth. Make earrings by threading stacks of buttons onto pieces of wire; tie ribbon around the pom-pom for a head scarf, or add a felt brim to the pom-pom for a hat.

PostHeaderIcon Shop much

I am in a spending type of mood! I purchased our patio furniture today, and am now looking at some office furniture that will work for my craft room  I want one of those armoires so when I am done scrapping (or whatever craft it may be) I can put things away and close the doors.  This room will also function as the game room, so I want to make sure my things are out of site from little fingers.  I also need to find end tables and possibly new dining room chairs.  As long as the money keeps coming in I will find more things to go shopping for!

PostHeaderIcon Homemade potpouri

I saw a post on a message board I belong to, where a lady made her own potpouri from the flowers she received from her hubby on Valentine's day.  I was getting ready to throw mine out, but decided I would do the same.  I keep fluffing them up in the bowl on my dining room table, and they still smell really good, even though they are getting really dried out.

I received some more flowers this week for my anniversary, that when they start to wilt I will pull the petals off and add them to the bowl.

What a great way to preserve your flowers a little longer!  I will have to take a picture and post later.

PostHeaderIcon Craft shows

I need to get busy with my creations so I can have a nice supple of items to have at some craft shows. I would like to get a portable credit card machine to have on hand for any purchases made by credit cards. I have seen some at shows, and can only think that they get more sales by having one.

As soon as I finish these few baby gifts I will start making towel toppers, dish cloth, baby items, maybe even socks.  Who knows!  So many ideas going through my head.  The credit card machine will come in handy for any guitars my hubby makes as well.
