Computers and Cameras

I am in need of a new laptop. Mine is so slow and it seems like I am always having to fight with Trent to use it. It would be nice to have a 3rd computer in the house. Hopefully the sales start soon. I have seen a pink one, but I really want a purple one. So the search is on. If I was really nice I would buy a couple of them so then each one of us would have our own computer.

I am still holding out for another camera lens. I would like a stablizer one, as I am so very shaky when taking pictures.  I would really like to take some classes to learn more about my camera, so I can start making money.  I have done a few photo shoots of friends kids, but need to learn more.  The whole ISO lighting feature has me so very confused.   Once I get the hang of it, then I will want to have some photo software so I can play around with the pictures to enhance them and what not.

Time to save up or better yet, just tell Santa that I have been a really good girl this year!

In my future?

We are in need of a new desktop computer, as ours I think is on its last leg. If we get a new one, then the old one will go for the boys to use until it dies. I have been checking the sale ads to see if there is any we can fit into our budget. I need to back up all of our files and pictures before this one does die. I can't loose any of those pictures, as I have yet to print off one picture I have taken with my new camera, that isn't so new now. I have had it for almost two years! I can't even tell you how many pictures I have taken with this camera. I want to get a computer that has lots of memory and space for me to install a great photo shop program so I can doctor up photos.

I would really like to get a new laptop, then the hubby could have the old one.  This would be great when I am out and about taking pictures, then I could upload them all and show the clients right then and there, their pictures.  I could do this now, but I really want a new computer.  I can dream, can't I??

I think I am going to get that Bose stereo for my hubby as a surprise so I can sweeten him up so I can get my way with the laptop!  I love to scheme!  It usually works too!

Trip?

Trent wants to go to New York really bad. I will admit, I do to. There is so many things I want to see there. If we ever get the chance to go, I will have to look into getting some New York Yankees tickets. This will be the highlight of the trip. I am going to save up money, and then scope out the area to see if I can find some yarn shops.

I also have to figure out my camera as I know I will have lots and lots of photo ops with all of the sight seeing we will be doing.  So on that note I am off to study up on my camera.

Day trip

Well our shopping trip was a bust. Not very many sales, well what I justify as a sale. It was fun to just browse around and be with family. Trent have fun in the house of mirrors and the laser game. He could do both for as long as he liked, as long as he didn't leave the building. We gave him the other phone and then went browsing. He was told to call when he got tired of doing both sites. We ended up back over there before he called, and could see him in the mirror house on the cameras.

He was trying to take some pictures in there with his dad's camera phone, but they didn't turn out very well. He is now asking for his own digital camera. I told him if he could save for half, I would go in on the other half for him.   He is now asking what he can do to earn some money.   I guess, mowing grandpa's lawn isn't enough for him.  If he would only get back into doing his chores around the house, he would earn his allowance, and mom should enforce it more.  He did take some pretty good pictures of his dad and I at the various photo op sites around the town we were visiting.

Vacation

Vacation day. We are heading out to Frankenmuth to do some sight seeing, shopping and fun in a water park. I am hoping they have some good sales. I am still working on my hubby, as he is not sure he is going to go in the water park with us. This is supposed to be a time for us to relax, and take our minds off of the things that are going on right now.  I am still trying to figure out what else we can do for tomorrow.  I know I will have to do some laundry and get groceries, but will need something else to do that is fun.  Maybe a road trip to destinations unknown.

I would like to buy one of these camera lens. I had fun playing around with my camera last night at the beach, but would have loved to have a wide angle lens. There were so many people out last night at the beach, getting pictures of the sunset. Many with huge cameras, and lenses. I wish I would have thought to grab my tripod, but I got some great shots none the less.

I need to get the guys up and moving, otherwise we won't be getting out of Grand Rapids, and I am ready to go now!

Just might have found…

… a new hobby. Camping. I went for the first time, in quite a long time with some mom friends and our boys. We had lots of fun. So glad the weather cooperated for us! I wish I would have had a video camera, as we had some interesting moments that would have been great to have on video! I think I am going to look at some digital camcorders this weekend and see if I can find one that isn't to costly.  Then not only can I film a new hobby, but I can post lots of bloggy videos!

Photography

I need to get back into taking pictures. I haven't done much this past winter. I just got a new lens and really want to get some great shots with it. I should also look into getting another compact flash card. I have filled the one up that came with my camera twice now in the last 2 years… and thats alot of pictures. The funny thing, I have yet to print off one photo.  One of these days I will do it, but for now I just keep taking them and storing them on the computer.

My new camera!!

I finally got my Canon camera for Christmas this past year, and I *love* it!! I love how there is no delay on this camera! I have captured so many great shots that I wouldn’t have it I had my other camera. My friend Grace has loaned me her zoom lens, and I have been having lots of fun taking pictures with it. I need to save up my money so I can buy my own. She also has a macro lens, that I want to get as well. She has some really cool shot with this lens!

I love that its an SLR camera.  What is SLR?  SLR refers to Single Lens Reflex, or a camera that has one single lens to both view a scene and capture an image. What this means, to the casual photographer, is the picture you take will be the same as the image you view through the lens. It also means you can change the lens to take telephoto or wide angle photos. The most appealing aspect of an SLR camera is the ability to adjust the camera's settings manually, so that a seasoned photographer generally knows what the finished picture will look like before it is ever viewed.
