Happy Mother’s Day

Hope you all were blessed today!

Its time to return

Return to what you might ask? Church that is. We haven’t been back since Trent got sick back in December. We got into a “lazy Sunday” routine, and I will admit, I really have been enjoying it. We do need to go back, but we need to find the right one. The last one we attened had chairs church instead of pews, and it just seemed weird. I know its a petty thing, but to me churches need pews. I don’t think we will be going anywhere tomorrow, but maybe next week.

A splurge

So today on John and Trent’s outing for T’s birthday, they went to Cook’s for chili dogs, but then stopped at Best Buy and I started receiving texts with pictures of guitars and amps. John has been eyeballing crate amps for some time now, and finally found one that he likes and not to horribly expensive.

He asked if he could get the amp, I said no, as he told me I didn’t need a new laptop. He pouted, and then come home with an amp anyways. I am not very happy, but what am I gonna do? I think a little retail therapy is in order, and purses/bags it will be!

I will update later with my little shopping spree!

Summer coming

Summer is right around the corner. I need to find some Adidas Hiking Shoes, as I plan on doing some hiking this year. I want to go on vacation out West, so I need to be prepared!

John is in need of some work boots as well, so I think a shopping trip is in order. Hopefully he can find the boots at Meijer’s as I have a 20% discount coupon on a total order that I have to use up real soon. I wonder if I can talk him into going tonight after we drop Trent off, and then grabbing some dessert at Outback.

Sharing Responsibility

This guest post from Doris Dillon

I think my husband and I have a good marriage. We’ve been together for a long time, and we have a routine that works for us. We aren’t perfect, and we have our issues, but for the most part we work as a team and only fight when it’s absolutely necessary. We split all of our household responsibilities down the middle, and it works for us. I take care of paying our utilities and adt monthly fee, and he pays the mortgage. He takes the kids to school in the morning, and I pick them up in the afternoons. He cooks dinner three days a week, I cook dinner three days a week, and one night we go out to dinner at a place the kids choose. I am lucky to have a husband who takes responsibility for what goes on in the home. He understands that I work just as much as he does, and that if we don’t work together, our family will suffer. Some of his friends give him a hard time and call him Mr. Mom, but he is proud of how we operate.
