Its been a few years since we have taken a real vacation, and I think its time we look into going away. I want to surprise my husband with a fun get away. He has worked lots of long hours since starting his new job so a week away would be just what the doctor ordered. He so deserves this, as he is making it possible for me to no longer have to do daycare. I want to do something nice for him.
Some friends of mine just stayed at the Outer Banks vacation rentals and loved it. After looking at the website, I am “in love”! Ocean front rooms with a gorgeous view. Nothing like waking up and watching a sunrise while still in bed! Or we could have our coffee and cocoa out on one of the decks.

We could do some site seeing, and possibly visit some friends of ours who have moved down there. I may even allow my hubby to teach me how to golf. When we are done with all there is to do in the Carolina’s we can head back to the house and lounge around the pool.
Our 15th wedding anniversary is coming up soon and I would like to go away for a week, I just wonder if the East Coast will be warm enough in March? Carolina Designs will be getting a phone call soon, as I am ready to pack my bags!

You all have heard the saying “Christmas in July”, well I have changed it to August. I have been getting all of my gifts, whether it be in hand or planning out what I am going to be getting or making for loved ones this month. Our budget will be tighter than before, as I am phasing out my daycare business. Its time for a change, so I am scouting out all the sales and getting ready.
Its always the hardest to buy for my inlaws, as if they want and or need something they just go out and buy it. I think for my mother in law I am going to get her a digital photo frame. Its something she doesn’t have, and I know it would be something she wouldn’t go out and by for herself.

I have plenty of pictures that I could download to the memory stick. It will be another one of those gifts that makes her cry. My sister in law and I are good at making her cry over gifts. I have other things planned for her as well, just need to finish them up. I will have lots of time after this Friday. I will be a non working lady then! So excited!
I am having a hard time trying to figure something out for my father in law. He is the hardest to shop for, and the one who gives us the hardest time when we buy him things. I may have to dig deep into my knitting bag to find just the right pattern that will “WoW” him!

I wish we had the list for Trent’s classes, as I am sure there will be some funky Forex risk calculator on this list for his math class. We have to wait until the 30th to see what he needs. I have been doing some pre shopping, as the sales have started and I don’t want to run into any problems like last year of not being able to find what he needs. I am saving the receipts, then if he doesn’t need them, then I can take them all back. I so hate this time of year. I still have to have him try on his jeans to see if we need to go shopping for some. I am dreading the shoe shopping, as he is so picky!

TV reality shows are back on my hobby list. I have been DVR’ing all of my favorite shows, like Big Brother and Wife Swap. Both of these shows drive my hubby nuts, but what can I say, I love them! I just finished watching the Bacherlorette, which I kinda got into it with my mother in law. She thinks this show is so trashy, but thats what I think about soaps, so I guess we are even. I am excited to see what the new Bacherlor Pad will be all about tomorrow night. Any one going to be watching?

I am making my list for my Christmas shopping. Not only for my family and friends, but I have a few items on my wish list as well. Hoping for some good sales, as I will be on a strict budget this year. This will be the first time in a long time that I won’t be working around Christmas. But you never know, I just may get bored, and find a part time job for a few hours a day.
Any who, a few items on my wish list are a Bluetooth headset, and iPod car kit (I have to be able to still drive my son crazy with my 80′s music!!), a flat screen TV (but this is for a family gift) and a few other items.
For the family, I think Trent wants more gift cards for iTunes, and some games for the Wii. Christopher still has yet to give me some ideas, and I will more than likely just give him money, as he is the difficult one to shop for. John, I will be getting him some tools for his work, and a tool box.
For the inlaw, I am in a crafty mood, and will be knitting up some cute things; well for the females. As for the males, I am unsure at this time, but will figure out something for them, maybe some gift cards to their favorite restaurants.
Have you thought about Christmas yet?
