Fans and electric

We need to go look at ceiling fans, as I would love to have one for the living room. Not sure if we could put one in, but it would really be nice, for those days that aren’t so hot that you need the air one, but still just a little hot that maybe a fan would do the trick.

It would put my hubby’s handyman experience to the test. Could he get the electric all figured out. I am sure between he and his dad they could do it. So now to just light a fire under him to go shopping. This is the only room in the house (besides the bathroom) that doesn’t have a ceiling fan.

Homemade products

I have been searching for some home remedies for eczema treatments. Mine is flaring up on my eyes, and I don’t want to put a lot of chemicals around my eyes. I found these that I just might try. The Crisco one doesn’t sound too appealing, but the others aren’t to bad.

Apply Crisco 2-3 times a day is said to not only make you greasy, but eczema free.

Make the green tea as normal, but make it strong. Add 3-Tbsp Of Lemon Juice, 1-Tsp ground Rosemary, One Tsp Olive Oil to One Cup of Green Tea. Let this cool. (not cold, just room temp) Bath skin with this. (Recomended 100% Cotton Wash Cloth)

Eczema Treatment using Coconut Oil

Coconut oil may be applied to the portions with eczema. It will help the skin to stay soft.

A serving of watercress every day is said to keep eczema at bay, along with a daily drink of parsley, spinach, celery, and wheat grass.

Make a mixture of starch water after cooking rice mixed with turmeric powder. Apply this mixture to eczema affected areas.

A tablespoon of corn oil is recommended in breakfast and in evening meal to help reduce eczema and other skin disorders.

Fresh apricot leaves juice is useful for treating eczema.

Time to let go…

My baby boy is growing up. He is at the age of being able to take driver’s training, but I am reluctant to let him sign up. Not only is it expensive, but he needs to mature just a little bit more. But today I let him “go” just a little bit, but my stomach was in knots until he was safe at home. He had called to see if he could ride home with a friend from school. Scary! When he called he has used this friends phone, so the number threw me for a second. I guess with this “growing up” he is doing, its about time I get him a cell phone. I am leaning towards a pre pay for now. He won’t like it, but that is what will fit into our budget at the moment.

So I am looking to see who has the best sale on one he wants. I am hoping that there will be some great deals in the paper this weekend for Memorial Day. I will have to find more jobs around the house for him to do to “pay” for this phone, and the minutes every month. Too bad I don’t have a garden, he could be my weeder all summer long. I guess my flower beds will have to do.

Sticking to a plan

When selecting a weight loss diet, you have to make sure you are consuming a balanced and complete diet. Start by setting realistic goals and follow a guideline of nutritional and a low fat diet.

1. Commit to consuming 4 – 6 small meals and snacks everyday.

2. To succeed, you must plan ahead by packing your foods the night before. Thus, you should always have fresh and low-fat foods around.

3. Keep it simple. Don’t get too caught up on the specifics or your diet. Start by simply just counting calories.

4. Eat your foods slower.

5. Make healthier food selections like fruits, vegetables, whole grain cereals, and beans, low-fat or nonfat dairy products, low fat meats, fish and skinless poultry.

6. Avoid foods that are high in fat and calories.

7. Avoid foods that are high in sugars such as pastries, candy bars, pies and candy.

8. Use a variety of fruits and vegetables in your nutrition plan. Start by trying to eat 5 total vegetable and fruit servings every single day.

I am hoping to stick with this so I feel better in the bikini I just bought. Now if only I can get my hubby to work out with me, then I can build a little muscle as well as tone up.
