I need a vacation!

I am hoping my hubby will get sometime off this summer so we can have some sort of a family vacation. It would be nice to take a cruise or say maybe one of those Orlando vacations. I just want to get away! Maybe we can do a long weekend and head to Pennsylvania and go to Hershey Park, for Trent and then to Amish country for me! We were supposed to go last year, but that is when my hubby lost his vacation time from his previous employer. Keeping my fingers crossed that he will have some vacation time towards the end of summer.

My boys

These were taken on Trent’s birthday while we were at dinner.

Rainy day blues

What a dreary day! Not much was accomplished today. I could have been knitting or sewing, but I have laid around, read some, surfed the internet and napped. I have some pronexin reviews to do along with a few book reviews to finish.

I received in the mail today a newsletter from Debbie Macomber, one of my favorite authors, and in it was a pattern for a baby blanket. I may have to give it a try, but need to go get some circular needles first. I hope I can finish it in a timely manner!

I have a thing for salads

What You Need!
4 plum tomatoes, chopped
2 Tbsp. chopped fresh basil
1/2 cup KRAFT Balsamic Vinaigrette Dressing
1 pkg. (10 oz.) torn romaine lettuce
1 cup croutons
1 pkg. (6 oz.) OSCAR MAYER Deli Fresh Italian Style Chicken Breast Strips
2 Tbsp. KRAFT Grated Parmesan Cheese
Make It!

COMBINE tomatoes, basil and dressing; set aside.

PLACE lettuce in medium serving bowl; top with layers of croutons, chicken and tomato mixture.

SPRINKLE with cheese. Serve immediately.

Serving Suggestion
Round out the meal with a whole wheat roll.

Jazz It Up
For added interest, try using a mix of different salad greens, such as leaf lettuce, Bibb lettuce, endive, baby greens, spinach, shredded cabbage or watercress.

Trent’s birthday

We celebrated with cupcakes and went out for dinner at Logan’s. Walked away stuffed, and a little less in in our wallets! Wow, do growing boys ever eat! Remind me the next time I want to take out the family, that I must go to a cheaper restaurant!

I had taken Trent shopping over the weekend for him to pick out some summer clothes, and hit the right weekend as there were lots of great sales going on. He picked out 4 shirts and 3 pairs of shorts. I may need to find him a few more shorts, but he should be good on everything else.

As soon as the daycare kids were picked up, I did a little photo shoot of Trent in front of our neighbors house, as she has some really pretty flowers blooming right now. Of course, he had to ham it up for the camera.

This is the best one out of the bunch

I have no idea what he was doing in this one

Finally dad and older brother got home from work and it was off to dinner. While waiting for our table Trent and dad were playing “Who Wants to be a Millionaire” on Trent’s iPod. I am thinking about getting one for John, so he has something to do at work.

Father’s day is coming up as well as his birthday, so this might be what I will get him. The internet service where he now works isn’t all that great, so he could at least download some different apps on the iPod to keep him entertained during the day. I know that Trent gets good use out of his, so I am sure his dad will as well. Just another gadget to have in the house!
