Ugh!

I have been knitting alot more lately, for different projects, from Christmas gifts to gloves for friends to something for myself. I have been burning the candle at both ends, which makes me want/need caffeine to stay awake. But I am feeling the effects in a different way, my teeth are hurting. I need a Plano dentist to fix this once and for all! I want them to just pull all my teeth and go with dentures! Of course I won't go to that extreme, I just need to find another way to stay awake and avoid caffeine. I need to get back to work and complete all of these projects before Christmas, as I then will have two baby items to start working on.

Craft shows

I love going to craft shows. They give me lots of ideas of new knitting projects I can do. Some of the booths have some really awesome cardboard displays with all of their projects they have for sale. There is one item that I am still trying to figure out how to make.

I have seen these photo frames, that have been altered with either paper or fabric, and either have them as a way to display a picture or use it as a backdrop for a wall calendar.  I have an old clipboard that I want to use for a wall calendar.  I am going to have my hubby take the clip part off, and then somehow add some bolts that I can take off to add a new years calendar year after year.  I am hoping I can find a cute little chef that will match my kitchen decor to add to this.  I just need to get my creative juices working again.

Black Friday

Are you ready for the craziness of shopping the day after Thanksgiving? What sales are you looking for? I can't believe that I actually want to go out on this day. There isn't anything in particular that I have to have to go out at the butt crack of dawn, so I am sleeping in and then venturing out.

Photobucket I am wanting to get Trent an MP3 player. The one I want to get him is really nice and not all that expensive.  I have a few other things I want to get while I am out, then will be heading home to see if they guys want to go see "Blind Side".  Have to find some fun things to do this weekend, as my hubby has his vacation time back, and we have a long four day weekend.  I do have to fit in some knitting time so I can get Christmas presents done.

So will you be one of the crazies?  I will be thinking of you while I am in all cozy in my nice warm bed.  Have fun and I just might see you later in the day.  Just save me some good deals will ya?

Knitting & sewing

I am looking for things to make over the winter. I have several projects for knitting, but I need to find something to sew. I need some practice, and I want to start making my clothes. Sounds like a big project, but I am up for it. I have been looking at patterns for outdoor cushions for my patio set. I am thinking they should be easy to do, as they are much like making pillows, and I have that down pretty good.

Alternative to pumpkin pie??

Pumpkin Dump Cake

1 (29 ounce) can pumpkin
1 (12 ounce) can evaporated milk
3 eggs
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 (18 1/2 ounce) box spice cake mix
1/2 cup pecans or walnuts, chopped
3/4 cup butter, melted

1. Pre-heat oven to 350 F.
2. Grease a 9×13 baking pan.
3.  In a large bowl combine pumpkin, eggs, brown sugar, white sugar, evaporated milk and salt and spice. Stir well to combine, or beat on low to mix. Pour into prepared pan.
4.  Sprinkle with cake mix and nuts over the top of that.
5.  Drizzle the melted butter over all. Bake for 50-60 minutes until edges are lightly browned. Cool and serve with whipped cream.

I may just try this out for Thursday.
