Kitchen remodel
We are getting ready to remodel our kitchen. I am hoping that the big box stores have some awesome sales for flooring, as that will be our biggest expense. I have finally decided on a theme for the kitchen. I am going with an Italian theme. I found some cute tuscany curtains at an out let store along with some cutesy towels that I am adding some crocheted toppers to. I also found some cute pictures that were marked way down, which was a bonus. I will be busy painting the walls and cabinets this week, and then next weekend we will be ripping out the floor and putting down a new one. I am so excited for the changes that will be happening.
My hubby will be building me an island as well, which will be so nice. He is itching to do some sort of woodwork project, and I have nominated my island as his next project. How nice of me, right?! I will have more storage, and an area where we will be able to put our garbage can underneath, as well as a spot for our returnables. I loved the one my inlaws had at their old house. I want to get a food processor , but have been putting it off due to lack of storage. This won't be a problem any longer as soon as the island is built.
Someone on one of my message boards mentioned that they have a friend who has a 4 foot bistro chef statue in their kitchen. I think that would be so cute in mine, so I am now on the hunt to see if I can find one as well.
Latest knitting project
I found these cute towels at the Meijer outlet, and decided that my theme for my kitchen was going to be and Italian one… appropriate as I am married to an Italian.
Anywho…
I have one more to do, and then get the kitchen remodel done, and get all my pics up that I found as well… they are like the chef on the towel.
Yarn shopping
I found some really cute towels that will go nicely with the new decor I am planning for my kitchen, but had to head to the yarn store to get the right color yarn for the toppers I need to make for them. I was back in the back of the store looking over the yarn when the stores alarm systems went off. Lots of commotion went on, as they were really loud. Come to find out, as one of the employees were trying to set up a table out front, it triggered the alarms. Kennady kept saying, "Make it stop, my ears hurt."
Recipes
After this past week I need to find the best diet pills or some healthier recipes. Today at church we had a potluck, and oh my all the food! And of course you can't just stop at a few dishes, you have to try a little of each dish! Then we get to the inlaws and I found this yummy dessert in a magazine and will be making this sometime this week. I guess the diet will have to wait yet one more week to start!
Strawberry Cream Freeze (made up 3 different ways)
1 pkg. (8oz) cream cheese, softened
1 cup cold milk
1 pkg. (3.4oz) JELL-O vanilla flavor pudding
1 1/2 cups thawed Cool Whip whipped topping
20 nilla wafers, coarsely broken
1 cup sliced strawberries
1/2 cup strawberry ice cream topping
Then you can either do one of 3 things:
8" pie: spoon filling into 6 (oz) Oreo pie crust. Freeze until firm.
Waffle bowls: Freeze filling 6 hours or until firm. Scoop into 8 waffle bowls
Mini pies: spoon filling into 12 muffin liners. Freeze 4 hours and remove linings.
Enjoy!
Photography
I need to get back into taking pictures. I haven't done much this past winter. I just got a new lens and really want to get some great shots with it. I should also look into getting another compact flash card. I have filled the one up that came with my camera twice now in the last 2 years… and thats alot of pictures. The funny thing, I have yet to print off one photo. One of these days I will do it, but for now I just keep taking them and storing them on the computer.
