Bathroom

We have been doing lots of home improvements lately, and I have found that I really like to paint, maybe a new hobby? Nah! I think the only room that won't be retouched this year is the bathroom… unless I can talk the hubby into getting a new vanity and look as some new faucets for that as well as a shower head.   I am sure I can find some things to knit to add to the bathroom to finish off the home improvements.

Knitting

Ooooo  I found this cute little 5 piece set I want to give a try.

Now if only my arm will cooperate and allow me to actually knit this!  I have only managed to knit two rows tonight on a dishcloth, so its not looking to promising.  Sigh.  I think its time I break down and go see the doctor to figure out what needs to be done about this arm pain!

Yarn

I am so glad we can pay our insurance online as well as other bills, as I am now out of checks. I don't really want to order anymore either. We rarely write checks so I feel it is a waste of money. The amount we would pay for them, would be dinner out at Fazzoli's.  Or maybe a few skeins of yarn.  I have a few projects I want to do and of course the yarn I have on hand just won't do.  Isn't that the way it always goes?

I am hoping the the pain in my elbow holds off for while so I can finish these projects.  Keep your fingers crossed!

Deck

Photobucket

A year ago we borrowed a pressure washers to clean our deck. I had so much fun using this that I am wondering if it would be ok to use it on our house to clean it as well.  I'll have to look into that.  But now I need to look into finding some stain to restain the deck.  We will be here for a little while longer as the house market isn't all that great in Michigan.  I plan on spending lots of time out on the deck now that I have a nice patio set.  Just have to see if my wonderful hubby will be up for the challenge of this next project.  I may have to wait a little while, so he can recover from the kitchen remodel we just finished up this weekend.

Floor is done!

We finished the floor this weekend.  It was a lot of work, but well worth in in the end!  We have the molding to put back and install the 2 thresholds.   Then it will be onto the countertops!  I can't wait for my kitchen to be done!

Kitchen remodel

We are getting ready to remodel our kitchen. I am hoping that the big box stores have some awesome sales for flooring, as that will be our biggest expense. I have finally decided on a theme for the kitchen. I am going with an Italian theme. I found some cute tuscany curtains at an out let store along with some cutesy towels that I am adding some crocheted toppers to.  I also found some cute pictures that were marked way down, which was a bonus.  I will be busy painting the walls and cabinets this week, and then next weekend we will be ripping out the floor and putting down a new one.  I am so excited for the changes that will be happening.

My  hubby will be building me an island as well, which will be so nice.  He is itching to do some sort of woodwork project, and I have nominated my island as his next project.  How nice of me, right?!  I will have more storage, and an area where we will be able to put our garbage can underneath, as well as a spot for our returnables.  I loved the one my inlaws had at their old house.  I want to get a food processor , but have been putting it off due to lack of storage. This won't be a problem any longer as soon as the island is built.

Someone on one of my message boards mentioned that they have a friend who has a 4 foot bistro chef statue in their kitchen.  I think that would be so cute in mine, so I am now on the hunt to see if I can find one as well.

Latest knitting project

I found these cute towels at the Meijer outlet, and decided that my theme for my kitchen was going to be and Italian one… appropriate as I am married to an Italian.

Anywho…

I have one more to do, and then get the kitchen remodel done, and get all my pics up that I found as well… they are like the chef on the towel.

Yarn shopping

I found some really cute towels that will go nicely with the new decor I am planning for my kitchen, but had to head to the yarn store to get the right color yarn for the toppers I need to make for them. I was back in the back of the store looking over the yarn when the stores alarm systems went off. Lots of commotion went on, as they were really loud. Come to find out, as one of the employees were trying to set up a table out front, it triggered the alarms. Kennady kept saying, "Make it stop, my ears hurt."
