Blueberry Buckle
I had my cooking class today and one of the items we made was blueberry buckle. It was oh so good!!
Blueberry Buckle
3/4 cup white sugar
1/4 cup shortening
1 egg
1/2 cup milk
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups fresh blueberries
1/2 cup white sugar
1/3 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 cup butter, softened
DIRECTIONS
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease one 8×8 inch pan.
2. Cream together 3/4 cup sugar, shortening, and egg.
3. In a separate bowl mix together 2 cups flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir into sugar mixture, alternating with milk. Stir in blueberries. Pour into greased 8×8 inch pan.
4. To make topping: Combine 1/2 cup sugar, 1/3 cup flour, cinnamon, and butter. Sprinkle over cake batter.
5. Bake at 375 degree F (190 degrees C) for 25-30 minutes.
Watches
My baby will be graduating from middle school in a few months, not sure where the time has gone. I don't know if I am ready for him to be entering into high school. When Christopher graduated from middle school we got him a watch for his gift, so I guess I had better look into getting one for Trent as well. Not sure if I should get him a name brand one like Patek watches, or just stick with one I can get from a local store. We got a nice one for Christopher, but it ended up getting stolen from school, so I am not sure I want to go this route with Trent. Either way, I need to figure out what to do for him for this milestone in his school career!
Shopping
Sale is one of my favorite words!! We are in the process of going to look for new living room furniture, and I keep seeing on TV all the sales the various furniture stores are having right now. I have in mind what I want, now just have to find the right deal! Of course we are still going head to head over whether or not it will be leather. I say NO! The only thing we agree on is that the couch and love seat have to have the built in recliners! We have blue carpeting so I am leaning towards the chocolate brown color for the furniture. I will need to get new pillow as well, as the ones we have now are really bad. I am thinking staying in the blue theme, as it will tie in the carpet so everything will flow.
I would like to get a new flat screen TV, to make our living room complete. But with doing this I would need to get a new entertainment center, or my hubby could tweak the one we have. I think this is an excellent idea! Just hope he thinks so as well. I will have to do something extra special for him so he sees things my way!

Computer problems
After the fiasco of my computer going on the fritz in December, I need to get some more computer memory for the laptop. I only hope that we don't get a bad one again. Going without my computer for a few weeks is no fun! Especially when you have to share the only other computer in the house with 3 other people! Luckily I saved all of my links in an email, as the repair work they did, restored my computer back to the original factory settings.
