Money Tree
Today is my oldest son’s 21st birthday. I had planned on giving him cash for his gift, but didn’t want to just put some $$ in a card. So with him thinking I am still his money tree I wanted to make one, but had trouble finding one of those fake wire trees. I had to get creative, so I used some poinsetta flowers and removed the flowers from the stems and added the dollar bills. I can’t wait to see his face!

Ugh!
Ever have one of those days, weeks or months where the kids drive you crazy!? This must be the mouthiest month ever with my two! I am going to make a box and name it my Lipovox, and every time they get mouthy or lippy they will have to put in a dollar! It won't take long for either 1)I have a small sum of money to go shopping with or 2) they catch on fast and shape up! As much as I would love to be able to go shopping, I would much rather have two boys who are well behaved!
Signs
I have noticed more and more digital signage along the highways lately. It was only a matter of time, what with the TV's going digital, the billboards had to get in on it as well. There is one along the highway I drive the most, that at night time it is actually a little to bright. I think this may cause many distractions for drivers, and we have too many other things that distract us, so we don't really need this one to add to it.
Work out equipment
When I first started working out I liked the treadmill, but this last six weeks I found out I really like using the elliptical. I have not only lost some weight, but I have lost inches in all the right places! I am down a pant size, and down two sizes in my shirts! This has NEVER happened! I need to stay on top of the maintaining this progress I made, I want to look great in a swim suit this summer! I will be getting some of my shake stuff to help with this, and it will be a great cool drink for the hot summer weather.
Knitting and money
I am hoping to save up enough money this year to purchase an LCD TV. I have made some knitting items that have started off my savings. I would like to whip out more things to have enough for a craft show this fall. Right now I am working on some baby items for a friend at church, and if the sweater turns out like I want, I will be making more of them. I am still wanting to make candles, but I can't get the formula down right for this.
Knitting
I have a list of 13 things I want to knit this year (and probably more)
1. Erin’s scarf (just started) **done**
2. A new scarf for me (bought a new coat, so need a scarf to match) **decided that the one I have matches well enough, so skipping this one**
3. Fingerless gloves for me **done**
4. Baby blanket **started last night**
5. Baby booties
6. Baby hat
7. Socks (I think I figured this out, so I need to give it a try)
8. Design a square with a heart on it, to enter in a contest.
9. Maybe a hat for myself
10. A sweater (saw a cute one in one of my new magazines that looks easy enough.. *maybe*)
11. A cute handbag (it’s felted, something I want to learn)
12. A new hat for Trent
13. And last but not least an afgan with all the surplus of yarn I have. (I have soooo much, 3 rubber maid tubs full… yikes!)
I am going to be busy!!
The scarf (forgot to take a pic of it when it was completed, but had this one when it was still on the needles and almost done.)
and fingerless gloves:
Guitar making
John is getting ready to start another guitar. He just order the parts he needs, and they should be here any day now. Tomorrow he is going to cut out the body, there will be 3 parts to this one so he is going to have to get his dads industrial clamps to use when he glues them together. This is the only part in the guitar making process that I have a hand in, as I have to help hold the wood while he is clamping it tight. This guitar is for his nephew, and will be pretty neat looking when he gets it done.
Decisions
The economy isn't looking very good here in Michigan (or any other state in the US), so I am thinking I might go back to school. I am still unsure of what I want to do. I am thinking either cosmetology or back into the medical field. I had went through a medical assistant training school some years back, so I know I can do it again. This time I think I might focus on the clerical ends of Medical Assisting. I would love to work in an office again. I have loved my time being home with the boys, but I miss having adult interaction.
