Holiday Pretzel Treats

These look simple enough to make, and cute at that!

Salty pretzels combine with sweet chocolate for these fun treats that make a yummy gift few can resist. (In fact, you may want to make some extras for yourself!)

RECIPE INGREDIENTS:
    Bite-size, waffle-shaped pretzels
    Hershey's Kiss or Hershey's Hug
    M&M's candy

1. Heat the oven to 170º. Set a number of bite-size, waffle-shaped pretzels (one for each treat) in a single layer on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper, then top each pretzel with an unwrapped Hershey's Kiss or Hershey's Hug.

2. Bake for 4 to 6 minutes (the white chocolate will melt more quickly), until the chocolates feel soft when touched with a wooden spoon. Remove the cookie sheet from the oven and quickly press an M&M's candy into the center of each Kiss.

3. Allow the treats to cool for a few minutes, then place them in the refrigerator to set, about 10 minutes. Place handfuls of the candies in clear plastic bags and tie on colorful ribbons.

Good for you foods…

For the next month I am looking at recipes for healthy cooking. I am going to be starting a biggest loser on a message board, that will run through Christmas. I want to be in shape and eat well before all the parties we will be attending.   If I get a head start on it now, maybe by Christmas I will be able to stay away from all the sweets and won't pack on all those unwanted pounds.

So do you have any healthy recipes you are willing to share?  I know going to my favorite site, Paula Deen will not be an option for the next month, as she loves to cook with butter.

Faucets

Our kitchen faucet is acting up. I think something my be clogged in it. I don't want to get a new one, as I really love the design of it. Its alot like these bar faucets.  My hubby has been looking at other styles, but I am not sold on any he has found. I told him we have to wait until after the holidays to purchase a new one.  Maybe by then I can work on him to take ours off and see if there is anything in it.   I am thinking that it might be little parts of the pipe that shattered in the water heater, that made its way through the lines, as we did find some in our bathroom faucet and that is up on the 3rd floor.

Fingerless gloves

I finished two of the fingerless gloves I was commissioned to make.  One was for a man, so there is no "mitt" to go with his.  And the other was for a little girl, so the "mitt" was added.  They didn't take long to make, and turned out pretty good, if I do say so myself.  I will add a picture of them a little later.  My camera and laptop are having connection issues right now.  Grrr

Helicopters

I was given the opportunity to review this rc helicopters. I was pleased when it arrived and I saw that it was purple, my favorite color! There wasn't any instruction in the box, so we had to estimate how long to charge the battery.  I like that we can fly this helicopter indoors, as right now its snowing at my house, so its not any fun to be outside for any length of time.

The guys tried it out, and had some fun with it for a little while.  The helicopter doesn't hold a charge for very long, they were lucky to get two minutes of fly time, if at all.  Most of the time it would just spin in circles or fly backwards.  My son is having more fun teasing the cat with it than flying it.

Men!

Why do they get the "Mr. Fix It" bug so close to the holiday's? John decided it was time to go around and check all the blinds and see what one's needed to be replaced. He went and bought a bunch of the housing units for most of the blinds. While at the store, he was checking out some bamboo blinds that he really wants to get for our bedroom so it would make it darker in there. I told him we didn't need them, and its dark enough with the blinds we have now and with the curtains. I wish he would get the "Mr. Fix It" bug for the things that actually need fixing, like say our entertainment center. If the door falls on my foot one more time I am going to scream!

Knitting orders

I have been busy making some fingerless gloves for some gals on a Christian parenting board I belong to.  I hope they all like them!  This is a relaxing outlet for me.  They are quick and easy to make, and a nice break from making blankets.  Well back to knitting, I want to get these all done before Thanksgiving!

What to choose?

So many diet pills to choose from these days. This is yet another one I found online, while searching, Fenterdren. I should be happy with how I look right now, and stop obsessing with trying to lose weight! My hubby is pleased with how I look, so I can't I be? Ugh! I have 10 or so pounds I would like to see go away forever!  I am off to see what I can find, wish me luck!
