Strawberry Sensations

Posted by Jodi on Jun 30 2008 | cooking, Baking, Uncategorized

I had my last cooking class this past weekend, and it was all about strawberries!  Mmmmm  We made strawberry freezer jam, a strawberry trifle, and strawberry shortcake.  I still can't believe how easy it was to make the jam!  I thought it was this long, drawn out process to make!

Starting to make the trifle

This was so yummy!!  We even made homemade angel food cake!  Which was really easy to make as well!

One of the 12 jars of jam I made, so yummy as well!

Later on this summer, we are going to get together and can some peaches and then tomatoes!!  And then in Sept, she will start the classes all over again and the first one will be co-ed, as we are going to prepare for the chili cook off at our church!  Can't wait!

Tracking anyone?

Posted by Jodi on Jun 29 2008 | Uncategorized

If I were to ever work for a trucking company, I would hope they have gps fleet tracking, as I know that I would probably get lost, and would need someone to track me down to get me back on the right track.  I was going to ask my brother today at Hannah's birthday party if they have anything like this with the company he works for, but completely forgot.

Fun lights!

Posted by Jodi on Jun 26 2008 | Uncategorized

I want to get some tiki lamps so we can have some fun outdoor lighting at Robyn's for when we have porch parties. While I am at it, I want to get some fun decorations for a Hawaiian themed party. I have a shell bra that I won at a non traditional baby shower this past weekend, now all I need to get is a cute grass skirt, and I will be all set!

Selling things…

Posted by Jodi on Jun 25 2008 | Uncategorized

John is getting ready to list some of his amps on ebay, so I need to get all my packing supplies together. I think this time I am going to get some postage tape so when we address the shipping label it doesn't smear. These are too big of items to have them get lost due to poor labeling. I am hoping he gets a good price for each of the 4 amps he will be listing. I want to try and build our savings back up.

How cool!

Posted by Jodi on Jun 23 2008 | crafts

I found the cutest craft to make, and you use disposable diapers!! We had a baby shower this past weekend for my dear friend Kellie. She had originally wanted a diaper shower, but we thought getting just a package of diapers would be way to boring. I had a few things for her already, so I searched online to find instructions for a diaper cake.

I found a video of one being made and put mine together.   I used the small size dipaers, I thought one package would be enough, but needed to get another package, only to use 7 more diapers.  I had some blue ribbon (she is having a boy), some cute baby toys I found on a 99 cent rack, and a baby bottle.  It didn't take me long to make this cute diaper cake.

I am thinking about making a few more of these and post them on my etsy account.  Would you buy one of these for a shower gift?

Time to go shopping

Posted by Jodi on Jun 23 2008 | Uncategorized

John has been printing more and more music here lately and therefore depleting my office supplies. The last few songs he has printed off, I noticed he was using my resume paper! I have to go get some more white copy paper. Its a good thing I have a new box of resume paper, as I found a few more jobs in the paper this weekend that I want to apply for.

Too smart for their own good!

Posted by Jodi on Jun 19 2008 | Uncategorized

My boys that is! We have it set up on our desktop that we have the internet signed out, so that only my hubby or myself know how to get it reconnected. Or so we thought! The oldest had been going to sites totally not approved by us, so we had to go this route of disconnecting the internet. The other day I had went to log in only to find that it was already logged in, I called my hubby at work to see if he left it logged in, nope. So the kids figured it out. Now I want to get one of those KVM switches and have it in a spot that they won't know about. This will put a stop to their sneakiness!  Or at least I hope it will!

I can’t wait to share my latest project…

Posted by Jodi on Jun 14 2008 | crafts

But you will have to wait for one more week!  LOL  I can't post it now, as it is for a friend, and it will give away the surprise!  Just know that I am so pleased with how it turned out, and can't wait to make more!!   I think this will be a fun craft project to put on my etsy page!  Right now my page is blank, I haven't had the time to work on projects, which is funny, as I am no longer working.  You would think I have all the time in the world, but I find myself on the computer all day long.  I need to stop this, and get some stuff done, so I can start making some money to build back up our savings!

A funny find…

Posted by Jodi on Jun 14 2008 | Uncategorized

A few weekends ago we went to this huge flea market to see what sort of stuff we could fine. You know, "One man's junk is another's treasure". Trent found this table that had lots of medical devices and wanted to know what one was. I told him it was something that is used only on females, and left it at that. He doesn't need to know any of that stuff! Of course my father in law thought it was hilarious and was waiting to see what I would say. I think I pulled it off just fine! You just never know what you will find out there, and why some will try to sell this kind of stuff!

Adult acne

Posted by Jodi on Jun 14 2008 | Uncategorized

My body is changing, and I don't like it!! I am breaking out like I have never before! I need to find something that won't dry my face out to much, but enough to where it will be effective to get rid of this awful acne! While I am at it, I will get some for my oldest son, he is breaking out again. What acne treatments do you use?
