What do you know about mesothelioma? It is a form of cancer that is almost always caused by previous exposure to asbestos. Most people who develop mesothelioma have worked on jobs where they inhaled asbestos particles, or have been exposed to asbestos dust and fibre in other ways, such as by washing the clothes of a family member who worked with asbestos, or by home renovation using asbestos cement products. Unlike lung cancer, there is no association between mesothelioma and smoking. Some symptoms of this cancer are shortness of breath, cough, and pain in the chest due to an accumulation of fluid in the pleural space, fatigue or anemia wheezing, hoarseness, or cough, coughing up of blood. Sometimes these symptoms will lie dormant for 20 to 50 years!
We signed up for a membership at the YMCA last week. We have been a few times and getting a workout. I have checked out the ellipticals, and while they look like I would get a great workout, I am hesitant on using them. I am afraid that they would bother my knees. Why I don't know? I walk/jog the track, so why should getting on one of these machines be any different? You would thinkt that it would be easier on my knees, as there would be no pounding the pavement like on the track. I guess I should just bite the bullet and give it a try.
I can't wait until we get a new house! I would love to have a movie room, and wouldn't it be fun to have home theater carpet in there? Or even have a gaming room, and get carpet called "stacked the deck"? So many things you could do with rooms like these. I would have a blast decorating them! Now to get this one sold, so I could actually do some of these rooms in a new house!
…you hear of people making clothes for their kids, and for doll clothes. But has anyone made their own maternity clothes? This might be something I would consider doing for some of my pregnant mom friends. I have yet to get the sewing bug, like all my many hobbies. I have tried it some, but just can't get it. I have made some curtains for our bedrooms, and have recovered some pillows, but that is my extent of sewing. I would love to sew my own things, but just don't have that confidence yet.
Wouldn't it be fun to make your own wedding flowers? I have always wanted to do floral arrangements. I have a girlfriend who is wanting to get married some time this year, maybe the two of us could make hers. I love the idea of using artificial flowers, so that way you could have them forever. But there are others out there who prefer real flowers. I guess you could dry them, in order to have them forever, but that just doesn't seem worth it to me.
